Looking for lids
« on: August 16, 2009, 07:15:27 am »
Hi Everyone. This has nothing to do with tmx, but was just wondering if anyone out there in Australia would know of any place that you could buy lids for mason jars? They are the ones that you use for bottling fruit with the vercola system but these lids are screw top ones. I have over a dozen bottles that I would like to use this mango season but just can`t find any lids for them. They are 3inch or 75ml size. Oh and if anyone would have any recipes for the syrup that you use in bottling I would be grateful for that as well. Thanks Sandy

Sorry, don't have any, but wonder if you took a jar to the cookwares shops - they may be able to help.

Also, op shops, garage sales - especially in the country?

I have neither either I'm afraid. You could also try hardware stores - our Permewans/Mitre 10 stocks all of the preserving things and also food dehydrators.

I second the Green Living link Thermomixer gave.  They sell new lids for most sizes of jars and I know of recommendations for their service too. :)
