leakage from the bowl
« on: August 14, 2014, 04:02:14 am »
Has anyone else had this problem?

There looks to be some leakage from the bowl to the base. At first, I thought it was rust but it is not rust.

I keep wiping it and it keeps reappearing!

Not had that problem courton.  Do you have a second bowl you can test to see if it does the same thing?  I wonder if the o-ring on the bottom of the blade assembly needs replacing?  Have you taken it off and given it and the spindle a good clean just in case there is something caught under it?

Just spoke to TMX HO and the service man said that the blade had worn out after 4 years and it was common around this age to replace it! >:( >:( >:( >:(

I have just ordered a new blade@$115. I did not expect the TMX to do this after paying $2k for it. Other appliances last and last. And, I probably use it only once per day.   ???

It's a bit like when the blades are stripped. Very annoying for you.

I've had this occur courton. My tmx is only 2 years old. It seems to only happen when I am using my bowl for lots of things in one day and washing it quickly and reusing it. I thought that maybe I wasn't drying it properly? It doesn't occur every time I use it.

I have had this happen but the same as Kimmyh - I have just put it down to not drying properly.  Will have to keep an eye on it I suppose.  Don't like the thought of paying $115 for new blade however as I won't work without it I guess you don't have much choice.
You haven't failed at anything until you stop trying.

Mine was happening all the time. It looks like rust but it isn't.

If you've ever dropped your bowl it could  be a warped bowl.

I have never dropped the bowl Den. Ever since I got a new blade the problem seems to have stopped.
