Missing my Thermie...
« on: August 19, 2014, 12:36:19 pm »
I had to send my machine to Perth for repairs. I've been getting error 31 and 52 for quite a while and just ignoring it and turning off at the wall. But, recently, it's been slowing down, so had to give it up for a while.. :'(
I didn't realise how much I used it. I've had to change plans so many times with my cooking! My DD has offered hers while it's away and I said, no, it's fine, I'll cope. But I'm not!! ;D
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

I feel for you MJ.
I've mDe milo and pesto in mine today, bread and bickies yesterday. I would be lost without my machine.

My machine has had to go for repairs as well -- a cracked faceplate.  As soon as it left the house, I developed a crippling inability to think of any food that could be made easily without a Thermomix, so we're eating out tonight! :D  I was hoping they would phone today to say that they were sending it back, but so far, no word...

That's bad news MJ and Siren.
I would be lost without my machine too if it had to be repaired.

Oh that is terrible.  Hope you both get your Thermies back soon.  Would be like losing an arm (or two) in my house.

I would be utterly lost. I don't think I would cope without playing with yeast. There is no way I would knead by hand again.

I obviously tempted fate by posting in this thread as my machine died this evening while I was grating cheese. I had to cook my salmon mornay in the microwave instead. I hope I can get it fixed quickly as I don't know what I'll do without it. I may have baked my last loaf of bread for a while.

Not that we take our machines for granted but we sure appreciate having them back once they've been away a few days.
