Hi bluebear.  I really need a new consultant, and your's sounds lovely.  Are you in Melbourne?  This new TM5 keeps calling my name :)

I am!! My consultant lives in the Ringwood area, not sure how close or far that is to you, she was willing to come to me (I live near Fountain Gate). Let me know if you'd like her details.

Yes please blue bear.  I would love her details.  Richmond might be a bit far for her, but I can ask at least.  Thankyou.

Has it been confirmed if there's a power out whilst cooking, can the lid be taken off, or is it still in lock mode?

I asked this question too and it sounds like the lid would be locked on if the power went out. So what ever you are making would have to stay there. Be no good if you have bread dough and it keeps rising for hours lol.

You'd have to hop in the car and race to a suburb which has power LOL.

Great idea Judy!!

My consultant is also lovely, we're getting a Thermomat. (I cut mine...) She's also giving me a $50 commission as my sister bought from her.

She has made meat stews using the new butterfly and said the meat was perfect.

A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

This is good to know.

Interesting tip from FB posting.

IMPORTANT TIP: you must 'shutdown' your TM5 properly by pressing the selector switch until the shutdown message appears BEFORE you switch it off at the wall EVERYTIME. If your TM5 goes into sleep mode you need to wake it up and shutdown properly. Failure to 'shutdown' 4 times in succession will/can cause an error that needs to be sent away for service to restore. Think of it like a laptop. {sorry if this tip has been told before, we learnt this at our team meeting this week}

That's silly. My laptop does not need to be sent to a service center because I don't shut it down properly no matter how many times.

I had wondered about this at the demo. Usually I just switch the TM31 off at the power point. I guess I'll have to get use to "shutting" it down first. Though having to turn it on when asleep to just turn it off seems silly.

Considering that many people in the world struggle to find enough to eat or fuel to cook with, I have to remind myself that our grumbles are truly a "first world problem".
