Thermoserver

Hello all,

American thermomix user here.  I was hoping that maybe someone can help me out here with finding the elusive thermoserver for a decent price.  I am looking for a thermoserver that is either the 2.5L oval or the 2.6L round.  Being in the states makes this bowl next to impossible to buy.  I did manage to find a 1.0L thermoserver, but it is way too small for making yogurt in large batches.  

Awhile back, I did communicate with someone on ebay about purchasing one from Australia, but even without the shipping cost involved, the price was very high.  I even tried calling the Canadian distributor hoping they would make an exception for me, nice folks there but they were of no help at all.

I found these insulated bowls that are sold in the USA Azure111. It looks like a Thermosaver but has no lid.

Thank you Cornish Cream!  Those do look like exact copies of the thermoserver.

Those are pretty big bowls at 14" diameter and 5" high.  I can make those work though, I think.

What a shame about hot having lids, they would have a huge market

Interesting how it reads,helps keep food fresh and cold longer. Guess you could lodge a plate on top.

There is a thread on this forum discussing alternatives. Many stores selling Indian food and kitchenwares sell insulated bowls with lids which work the same way as a thermoserver.

A plate on top would work Denise, our lid is only plastic anyway. If my Dad was alive he'd be able to whip up a wooden lid on his lathe with a lip on the underside for a snug fit.

They look great Dean but shipping from the States would be prohibitive.  The majority of our members are from Australia.

They're made in China and I'm guessing that someone is AU sells these, just need to do a little digging.

I bought one of the American Metalcraft 6" X 3" bowls from Wasserstrom and it is pretty much an exact copy of the thermoserver bowl designwise except it is made in India and doesn't have the plastic plate / cover.  It is also slightly bigger than the 1.0L thermoserver.

That's good news you purchased one Azure111. I'm sure you find something to use as a lid   Are you pleased with it?
