Have you noticed
« on: September 23, 2014, 12:52:49 am »
MM has added a new section for recipes for the TM5 on the Home Page.  Now we need our new owners to start filling those spaces  ;)
Thanks MM.

No I didnt. Thanks for pointing it out. Apart from the capacity, what will the difference be with settings etc?

Good question cp. Will it mean tm31 owners won't be able to cook the tm5 recipes people post?

I'm sure there won't be a lot of difference. I'm eagerly awaiting mine.

Members were asking for a new section for the TM5 CP.  Perhaps those with the new machine who try some of the TM31 recipes will put a link to the recipe in the new section, mention any tweaks and let us know if the recipe is fine as is?

Yes I remember you mentionied the other day about asking for a new section for the new machine, but I'm curious to know if apart from the capacity there will be any significant difference, especially in menu procedure? I'm sure if a recipe has already been converted it would be fairly similar to cook apart from the technology aspect.  If only these new machines would get out there so people could start using them ...

Personally I would not care if the recipe was for the TM31 or TM5 I just want to cook in a TM  :D & from my understanding until more chips are made we will need to use recipes for the 31 or unless people develop some of there own for the 5

As TMX5 goes to a higher temperature there may be some tweaks to recipes with temp and timing. I'm looking forward to cooking onions at a higher temp as I find TMX31 just sweats them down rather than sauté.

Someone suggested on Facebook that if recipes are for the bigger tm5 bowl, then they will need time and ingredient tweaking to suit the smaller tm31.

I'm interested to find out what i can cook in my TM5 that i couldn't cook in my TM31.  I want to experiment with a larger amount of bread dough, and my mum wants to try making a double batch of banana loaf!  (Her TM5 doesn't arrive for another week)

I'll also try caramelising onions and making meringue and let you all know.  Maybe not this week tho...

And if any TM5 owner can advise me what to use the 105 - 120 temps for i'd like to know....

I agree ILTM, I too would like to know what the TM5 can cook that the TM31 can't (aside from the yoghurt & rice auto cook recipes).  I look forward to hearing how the onions go.
I have a Facebook page with all things cooking, you'll find it here: https://www.facebook.com/What-Amber-Ate-1097437023601587/

105 temps more for toffees, and chocolate.

I will have more time this week to experiment and post.
