Feta cheese
« on: November 05, 2014, 03:37:31 am »
Hi. I have leftover feta cheese approx 140g from making a dip yesterday.
Has anyone got any suggestions on what I can make with it? Seems a shame to waste.  Thanks in advance..

Chellerin, there are plenty of recipes on the forum using feta cheese, just google feta cheese forumthermomix.  One is this quiche

Chellerin, I freeze any leftover feta and it defrosts really well. I use a vacuum sealer but I'm sure it would be fine in cling film or a zip lock bag with the air removed.

What a good idea Wonder - I had never thought to freeze feta!

We really like making Cindy's Vegetarian Sausage Rolls, which use feta.   These freeze well too.

Lots of soft cheeses freeze well.  Like Brie.  Not goat cheese though.

I didn't realise you could freeze feta. Thanks for that.

News to me too although I freeze other cheese so I don't know why I've never thought to do the same with leftover feta  :-)).  Thanks Wonder & Chookie, very handy to know and will save a lot of wastage.
