« on: April 16, 2015, 03:22:55 pm »
Hi Everyone

I'm new to the forum and my TM5 is due tomorrow, I'm SO excited!!

I'm going to make the Roast Pepper and Tomatoe soup which was prepared at the demonstration, any recommendations on what's easy to break me in gently?

Many thanks and looking forward to sharing recipes and progress once I have mastered it!!

Excitement plus.  I'm pleased you are excited means you will use it heaps,  make the custard, easy and so delicious.  Cook the best rice in the basket.  Everything is so easy , even after four years I still love experimenting and using Thermie.

Socs, you are about to have the time of your life, go for it.  Soups are indeed a good place to start. I make the pumpkin soup from the chip.
Decide also on the type of food you enjoy and then check out the Forum for recipes. Also read the comments .   Have Fun.

Congratulations SOCS!!
I am sure you will have loads of fun with your TM5, I have had it now for 5 months and have been using it atleast once every day, if not more! I make smoothies for my toddler, vegetable soup (easy peesy and tasty) and yes as CC, recommended, you can try the no fuss bread, yumm.

Pizza dough from the chip is also very good.. Enjoy!!

Welcome to the forum Socs, good advice from fellow TMX owners.

CP's favourite list of early forum recipes is also a good place to start, check out the list and read some of the reviews of the recipes on her list. You are bound to find many good recipes there.

Exciting times ahead Socs. Welcome to the forum. My suggestion for a first make is the vegetable stock concentrate. The recipe is in the book and on the chip. You will then use this in your soups, risottos etc.
There are heaps of tried and true recipes on the forum. We'd love it if you gave them a go and then post and tell us how they turned out for you.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

definitely make the stock, and most of all have fun with it. Try and use it as much as possible, for instance why not try making SR flour, baking powder, boiled eggs, condensed milk, washing powder etc as they are quick and easy. Once you get used to turning the dials you will relax and see that it really is a wonderful kitchen machine that you will not want to put away in the cupboard.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!  Today is the day!!!

Just a little about myself, I'm from Dundalk, a town in the North East of Ireland.  I have a four year old daughter and love cooking.  I work part-time, 5 mornings a week (9-2)

I know some of you are interested in the delivery time here: well, I ordered on Wednesday and am impatiently waiting on the courier! How lucky am I?!

Last night, in anticipation of my thermomix arriving, I made a pot of chicken stock!  I guess that's the last time I make stock that way!

Looking forward to sharing my stories with you all.

Happy Friday

it certainly will be the last time made that way. the vegetable stock is a paste concentrate that can be kept in the fridge/freezer to use for the TM recipes - they may call for a tablespoon depending on the recipe
