Is my blade blunt?
« on: August 18, 2015, 10:08:53 am »
I am trying to make Tapioca flour from scratch using the seeds (sago).

Despite whizzing on speed 10 for over 3 minutes, the 'flour' still contained small 'grains'.

Is this normal or would my blade be blunt?

I can't comment on the blades but you can try putting your steamer basket in the jug above the seeds when you mill the seeds to keep them close to the blades.

Hi Janet, it sounds like that could be the problem, try a carrot in the bowl and see how quickly that juices , my blades were fine for about three years, I bought new ones and have sharpened the old ones, they are ok for most things but not as sharp as the new ones.

AB, how did you sharpen the old blades?  Did you do it yourself or get a professional to do it.  I think my blades definitely need a sharpen!
