Expressions of interest for SS for 2015
« on: September 19, 2015, 11:59:26 am »
Hi all. As a result of very few people posting on the forum I was wondering if you still wish to do SS this year. I am quite willing to organise it and I will make sure that you don't receive anyone you have had previously.  ;D ( I'm pretty sure I still have copies of the last 2 years).
If you say yes please remember.......IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO SEND A GIFT TO YOUR SS WITHOUT ANY REMINDERS FROM ME OR THE OTHER MODERATORS.

If you would like to participate could you just reply, saying so. The rules will be the same as previous years. If we go ahead I will list the rules again.

Secret Santa Rules
Everyone who wishes to be involved MUST pm me their full name and address. Not your forum name. I will put a list of participants on the forum as I receive them.

Participants must have at least 100 posts to join in  and preferably check the forum at least weekly for any updates on SS.

By joining in SS you are committing yourself to sending someone a gift.

You must acknowledge receipt  of your gift on the forum so that your SS (and the moderators) know it has been received.

The cut off date for entries is 7th October, 2015.

Participants will need to purchase a gift for their SS to the value of approximately $20. Remember postage will be additional to this.

Gifts must be posted no later than 5th December, 2015 for those in Australia and much earlier if overseas.

Participants that don't reply to 3 pm's or emails from moderators concerning SS will be deleted from the list.

Please indicate to me via pm if you DO NOT want an overseas SS.

I have been thinking a bit in Christmas this year and this is what I am planning on doing.  You girls in this forum have been more than generous to me with gifts and messages and more gifts this past year. A lot of gift giving has been going on over time and really I love to send and to receive but am in need of not one thing in this life. I have an idea others may think along similar lines.

This year I propose that anyone who is thinking of sending me a gift will they please donate the cost of to their favourite charity or a woman's shelter or what ever. I am planning on donating the cost of the gifts I have sent, in the past and add a bit more, to the palliative care hospital where Ted was sent in his way. They can spend the modest amount on the staff or patients or families.

Having said that I am still excited about SS and will be participating gladly. I love getting my name and thinking about what to send and I get really excited when it arrives and is opened. It is a hoot and hoorah. Sometime though I do get a wee bit cross with those who want to play SS but wait until the last minute to send which is a bit unfair  as we all wait and anticipate as that is the fun of it. Also we want to make this as stress free for brave and crazy cookie.

So please ladies no gifts to me but think where those dollars might benefit . That can be yourChristmas present to me and I know you will be happy yours is going to Gordonvale Palliative Care Hospital in Ted's and my name.

But yes to my SS. Yahoo. Let the fun begin.

Cookie, I will have to opt OUT this year.  Things are just too much up in the air. I will enjoy the excitement that other members will have.
Thanks Cookie for you very generous offer.

Very understandable Chookie.

Gert that is a lovely gesture. Are we able to send our gift donation to the specific airport Ted left from too?

Nice try cookie. No pressies for me this year. Make someone else as happy as you  have made me in the past. We can have a drink in Melbourne and raise it to Ted or perhaps lower it to Ted!
