new TM5 worked for 2 minutes
« on: May 07, 2016, 09:43:07 pm »
Hi

so I got my Tm yesterday and didnt even touch it, waited for the representative to show it all to me today. all we managed was heating some water in a bowl and then it shut down. no error, no nothing. cant switch it on.  of course tried different power outlets and nothing.  its weekend and cant get in touch with anybody, uk/irish office is open mon- fri only and therw is no forum even! its my bday tomorrow and was supposed to have a Thermo Party.

anything I can try doing?

Oh, how very disappointing.  I hope you get this sorted out very soon and that you still manage to have a great birthday, despite this happening to your new TMX.

If your rep was unable to help you with this awful problem unfortunately I doubt any of us here can help Maja.  I've not heard of such a severe problem so soon in the life of a TM5. Come Monday I'm sure she will get it taken away to be looked at but in the meantime that leaves you in a spot of bother for your birthday Thermo party. I was just wondering though if the machine had been turned upside down or transported in the wrong position and whether, if you try it again  after standing upright overnight, it may work properly tomorrow. That's all I can suggest, good luck and happy birthday for tomorrow.

This is appalling Maja and so disappointing for you especially as it's your birthday.Fingers crossed that UK Thermomix will make it right ASAP.Hopefully with a brand new machine.

I'm sure you've done this, but have you checked the fuse in the plug??
Just a thought.
What a disappointment for you. Hope it gets sorted very soon.
Take heart. It's a wonderful machine.
Mine is away for repair at the moment- I've only had it for 3 months, so I am looking forward to getting it back so much.
I miss it dreadfully and forgive it for going wrong so soon.
You will love yours, I'm certain.

Maja that is good news. I can only imagine how upsetting it would have been for you with the faulty machine. Do keep us informed about your adventures with your thermomix.

There's always a lemon in every group of manufactured items and you were unlucky to get yours Maja.  Very good result after such a disappointment. Have fun from Wednesday onwards.
