I honestly don't know, but at a guess I'd say each country has things ( units of weight and measurement, and language) for their own country.
If you can get hold of the cook-key from another country you can use it to access all your recipes on your own cookidoo platform in the language of the country your machine is registered in. I'm not sure that makes sense but if I buy a cook-key from France I can use it in the UK to access all my recipes, in English, on the UK Cookidoo platform.Nik
