Good plan, Russel!!  Have you got a TMX yet?  I saw your post saying you were thinking about it, wondered if you'd 'succumbed'!!

In my head, not yet, in my heart, yes. Wonder why will win?

My most recent position was as Senior Princess in the Pimlico Palace...a position I still hold (creating the odd hand made toy, bag or cothing pieces in sweaty but not sweat shop conditions!) and because I am an Occupational Therapist I know it is important to have a role......and what better than Senior Princess.

On the side I am a SAHM who is sometimes encouraged out the door to work and get a real job.  I love watching my own kids grow and develop.  If I went back to work I couldn't send my work mates to time out - though I have found toddler tactics an amazing asset in workplaces.   I love cooking food - generally and of course with my thermomix  ;).

I'm soon to join my man (spanner) as a consultant.  Maybe I could combine roles and get a thermomix classed as an essential aid on the rehab schemes.

Wendy B, lol I just bought from you when you had your yearly sale :-)

I have a history in customer service and also photography. Started taking pic and getting paid around the age 15. I worked as a media photographer for a couple of yrs and done a handful of weddings ( I hate doing weddings), my passion is people, animals, nature and fine art.
I only qualifed as a photographer a couple of yrs ago, even though I had worked in the industry and won a handful of awards. I haven't worked in the industry for many yrs. Once I studied it and was encouraged to join appa (photographic groups etc) I found that although I love been a photographer, I am not a competitive person and am not interested in the nature of the industry.
I am a nearly qualified graphic arts. Have studied lots in the arts area and was encouraged to become a jewelery designer.
In recent yrs I have enjoyed labouring work, getting my hands dirty and doing gardening, mundane sort of work. Although it is rather boring I come home sweaty and stinky, but love it. I have weight issues and prefer to work physical jobs and get paid for working out lol instead of paying a gym.
I am currently a SAHM/personal taxi driver to 3 children (DD 10, DS 6 and DD 4.5 m).  I would love to finish getting my unrestricted HR licence this yr and hopefully be driving trucks by Xmas (one can dream).

Sarcasm is just 1 of the services I offer ;-)

I have just discovered this thread - what a wonderful, interesting, strong, talented and creative group of people you all are!  I thoroughly enjoy reading through all the posts.  I take my hat off to all you SAHM's - you do such an important and wonderful job .........I work full-time and my husband is a SAHD.  When each of my kids were born, I took about 9 months off work, and a bit like brazen said, didnt really enjoy it, and I wasnt particularly good at it either.  But I have done it for long enough to know how challenging it can be - and with all the other things you do in addition, you are amazing!

I was a sales rep for many years - in Veterinary products which is where I met Thermomixer -and then human natural medicines.

Well I'm another one from the veterinary industry too!  We are well represented here!  Veterinary Nurse turned to Veterinary Wholesale company and now full time Mum to 4 year old and 1 year old but DESPERATE for something to get my brain and social skills going again.  Conversations with children can only be stimulating to a certain degree and I have well and truly reached that point.
Looked into TMX consulting but couldn't see it working around my children and husbands schedule just now.  maybe one day.......

I am a hairdresser by trade, and worked in the salon for 10 years before I left to have my babies.
I lost my enthusiasm for it, and never went back.
I did price and sell jewellery at a second hand dealers (which I loved.......jewellery being another passion besides cooking) for a period of time.
Today hubby and I have our own business in rural services.
Pasture renovation, fencing, making hay etc.......lots of hours with hubby on a tractor, and me doing the paperwork  ;)

Very interesting thread- I am now a SAHM but previously a senior sales manager in pharmaceuticals.
I have a PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology.... and my dream job would be to work with Heston Blumenthal in his development kitchen! ;D
Not sure yet about real life in 2 hrs time though  ???

Goodness me we have some smart cookies on this forum..............

I'm with Brazen, I admire you SAHM's - I think I would've committed infanticide if I'd stayed at home with my little darling.  Thank goodness he grew up & left home  :D

Now of course I miss him like crazy - but he's fun to hang out with now!!!!

I'm a SAHM. I love being around for my kids (nearly 9, 7 and 3) even if they drive me insane sometimes, lol, looking forward to dd3 going to preschool 2 days next year and having some me time.
Well a WAHM as I run my own business - mostly I'm a fibre artist - I dye yarn, hand spin yarn and knit. Though I also do some beading and other stuff and run an internet store selling mine and other WAHM products and yarn supplies.
Prior to having kids (and a bit since) I was a web developer, starting in the early days of the www. (mostly worked in investment banking and dot.com's)
Have done loads of other things previously, mostly advertising, television production, was a croupier (black jack and roulette dealer) for a few years and a number of other things.

Good to catch up on this thread again! Wow! Some very clever and versatile members here.
Hestonfan, you're also a Gwen Stefani fan by the look of your avatar.
Zan, you must have an amazing headful of knowledge of computers and the web having started so early in the piece with web development.
I'd love to pick both your brains!
Maddy, where abouts do you run your business? My DH has been on the tractor doing contract hay baling lately too.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

We're Geelong way, in the Buckley district (close to Winchelsea).  Hubby does travel around though.  Because of the rural fencing side of things, he picks up all the hay and pasture work to boot.  Keeps him very busy  ;)
