Did you know that the dust hit Cairns this morning? Not as red but it is obscuring the mountains and the sea.

I saw the dust storms mentioned in the portuguese news yesterday - but no images.
Hope all becomes well!

I see - I liked the view from your house - seems you live in the country - at least not in the city with skyscrapers, etc.

we're about a 20km drive from the city centre but canberra's not really skyscrapers anyway, it's a very pretty city :) we are pretty much as far north west as you can get and only a block from the end of the suburb :) one thing i really wanted was a view as i grew up with a beautiful view and really miss it when there isn't one.

Gretchen

I got a text from my "second Mum" who lives in Cairns this morning to let me know and also tell me she was ok (she has asthma. I have to admit I was surprised it had made it that far.
