HELLO TO EVERYBODY
« on: September 29, 2009, 05:50:32 pm »
HI, I AM NEW HERE AS WELL, BUT NOT NEW TO THE THERMOMIX.  I HAVE HAD MY TM 21 NOW SINCE 2005 I THINK AND WOULD NOT BE WITHOUT IT ANYMORE FOR ALL THE TEA IN CHINA  ;).  I AM SO HAPPY THAT I FOUND THIS SITE.  ONLY KNEW OF A GERMAN SITE SO FAR.
I AM BY BIRTH GERMAN AND HAVE THE FIRST COOKBOOK IN GERMAN AS WELL, SINCE I WANT TO GIVE IT TO MY DAUGHTER WHO ONLY SPEAKS ENGLISH, I AM LOOKING FOR THE USER MANUAL IN ENGLISH AND MAYBE EVEN THE COOKBOOK.  DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN DOWNLOAD THE MANUAL?
HOW DO YOU ALL LIKE THE TM 31?  I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO HEAR YOUR EXPERIENCES.
GLAD TO BE HERE,
COUNTRYGIRL

Welcome countrygirl - love my TM 31 - advantages - has 37oC better for yeast and yoghurt.  Seals in the blades allow you to wash without worrying bout water getting into the mechanism.  Does rverse so beeter able to mix without mashing.

For the manual for TM21 try contacting Vorwerk at http://www.vorwerk.com/thermomix/html/contact.html  They would be the best source,

Welcome Countrygirl

I have my TMX31 only 13 days and I love it - my kids are worried that I have joined an internet chatroom/forum as I'm always telling them to stay away from them!  This site is fantastic for recipes and general info on the TMX.

Enjoy

Hi & welcome countrygirl - nice to have you here. Have you purchased the TM31 or just thinking about it?  If you love your TM21, you will love the newer model. Got any favourite recipes you'd like to share with us?

Thanks for the warm welcome.  I ordered my TM 31 yesterday from Canada.  I live in the States and it is not sold here anymore.  Nobody can tell me why.  They say a new one will be coming out in 2011 for the US.  I don't want to wait that long!!
I will be sharing my favorite recipes with you all once I translate them from German into English and from grams into ounces, which I will have to do for my daughter so she can use the TM 21.
One thing I have not mastered yet is how to cook rice in the Thermomix. Any tips from anybody?
Right now I am washing windows and bring all my flowers in from the outside, freezing temperatures are just around the corner for us.
How is the weather where you are?

How are you cooking your rice Countrygirl?  Maybe it is different in the TM21 to the new model but once you get it, try Bron's steamed garlic rice in the vegetarian section of this forum (print it out ready to go) - it is delicious and is the main way I cook savoury rice now.
The rice pudding recipe that comes with your new machine is great too so I will be very surprised if your rice doesn't turn out nicely in the TM31.

Countrygirl, the weather in Perth, Western Australia is just coming into spring. We've had a few lovely sunny days after many rainy ones. The mornings have been cold but the sun is lovely.  Soon we will be complaing about the heat.

That's interesting as that's the first question I asked before ordering my TM several weeks ago and was told that they wouldn't be releasing a new model for 5 years.

Grandma - as far as we (aussie consultants) are aware it's 2015-ish.

Yes I have the same info as ILB. I think countygirl is talking about the US release - not particularly a new world wide updated model. Fingers crossed anyway  :)
