My girls only eat the one Daddy makes.

It´s with a lot of "Quark", a kind of soft cottage cheese, and they cannot really handle dairy. Just like their mom ;).

We have had lots of Germans here in Australia and they went to wine-growing areas (or areas that later became wine-producing areas due to the Germans).

So the Barossa - which has its own dialect http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barossa_German and the Riverina http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_settlements_in_the_Riverina

last night I saw the Germans talking about kegel -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kegel_(bowling) - so we've got a lot of German heritage.

Wow, interesting. I forgot about the Bircher Muesli  ;).
We learn a lot in this forum. I remember that 30 years ago a classmate emigrated with her family to Australia. Maybe she is here?

Yes,

I do learn a lot here and you people are very patient :).

Yesterday it accured to me, that you are going into spring now, here it´s fall, harvesting season.

All immigrants bring part of their culture into the country and I love all the diffent kinds of influences we have in Germany. Plus, since eastern Europe opened up, we traveld to Romaina a couple of times and love it there. The people, the landscape and the food! I brought a few things into my kitchen from there.
