Christmas Section
« on: October 02, 2009, 08:54:36 am »
Just had a look at the "festive"section.  It's rather sad at the moment.  We need to get our Christmas thinking hats on soon!  I'm yet to "host" a Christmas but I'm booked as host for next year.

As a start, I'll have to get my mum's brandy custard recipe and convert it.

Ta -we're not like the Italians - they fill their festive season threads.

I made some brandy custard for christmas (to go with chrissie pud, brandy butter, double cream AND ice cream  :D)
Just used base custard recipe from the edc, and added the brandy in the last couple of minutes to avoid curdling.  It tasted awesome, but in retrospect, would have heated the brady to burn off a bit of the alcohol first
