Hi there - I'm new to this forum and don't have my Thermomix as yet (not long now!) but was blown away when I went to the demonstration. This is the perfect machine for our kitchen.
I work three jobs (two from home thankfully!) and am married with two adult children and a 10 year old 'angel baby' - you know the sort: unexpected but never for a moment unwanted. I spend three hours on the road each day running my boy to and from school, so you can understand when I say I'm a little time poor!
I love to cook - learned so much from my darling grandmother - and wanted to get back to healthy, nutritious eating that doesn't take forever at the end of a long shift.
I've been devouring the recipes and chat on the forum and have laughed at the humour. I can't wait to get started!!!!

Welcome For Heart and Soul. When does your TMX arrive? You will get a wealth of information and knowledge from this forum as there are some very experienced users here. (sound like druggies
- and I guess we are in a way)

Thank you all so much for your lovely welcome notes!
My (our) Thermomix arrives this Saturday and we are VERY excited! All the boys (except for the dog although he is one of the boys) are champing at the bit to get started. I think custard is going to be making a frequent appearance in our house for some time to come.
I've been extolling the virtues of having a Thermomix at work and two patients are checking them out now, as well as one of the blokes who was eaves dropping on our conversation. My sister in law in Townsville is asking about getting invited to a demo, as is my daughter who lives in Canberra.
Our freezer is stocked up with frozen berries and rhubarb so I think we'll have to try the Strawberry Rhubarb syrup recipe soon. My husband is a huge fan of rhubarb. Really looking forward to making jams and pickles and chutneys. My grandmother always made her own and they were the best - she would have loved one of these!
I can't remember - does the Thermomix come with any recipe books? It'll be interesting adapting our family favourites so that we can cook as much as possible in it. I'll be able to make stir fries without turning them into stews!
Back to school tomorrow, so it's bed time for all of us - we have pretty early starts. Thanks again for the welcome - it really made me feel good.

You get the Everyday Cookbook with the machine plus there are quite a few others you can buy. It's a wonder your consultant didn't show you what is available at the demo. Gluten Free cooking, Indian cooking, seafood, to name a few.

A big welcome. We love the Rice Pudding (EDC), and for your DH you could make some stewed Rhubarb with apple and strawberries (in the EDC) to go with it. Another great recipe that we found strange at the first tasting was the Tapioca Fruit Cereal, but we now find it a very tasty and healthy way to start the day. (Mind you, we don't have it every day - but just for something different to the usual breakfast every once in a while). Good luck, and I am sure you will find you will have a renewed interest in cooking because the TM makes things do-able.
