I haven't made this one yet - it is on the massive to do list  :-)) :-))  ;D ;D

I think substituting half of the butter and sugar with apple sauce (per brazens posting on here) would work really well with this cake and would also cut down on the sweetness  :D I love that idea and use it in every cake now

faffa, is the apple sauce with the icecream toppings in the supermarket, tinned fruit, or with the tomato sauce type?

no just from the EDC - I just fill the bowl with apples and about 10g of water and cook (can't remember how long it is for) but it is so easy and a great substitute for making the recipes that little bit healthier- I LOVE IT  ;D ;D

To be honest CP63, I am such a recipe follower that I forget. I always seem to remember when I print out the recipe though (probably because I think of it at the time) so I now write on the recipe when I print it out and then if it is a "KEEPER" for the family I change the ingredients etc and print a final copy  :D

Hi all - been a while since i've popped in (maybe a week or two!!  ;D feels like ages) glad to here you are enjoying the cake!   :-*
