Hello All
« on: October 14, 2009, 05:40:27 am »
Hi there everyone & how are you all?

I have only had my thermomix since Monday & Im slowly going about my way getting familar with it.Its been a little overwhelming for me to be honest. So far have made iced coffee but hubby will persevere with the recipe to get it to how he likes it,Im not too fond of the stuff myself.Have also made the sorbet, chocolate custard, vegetable concentrate & last night the mushroom risotto from the cookbook which I had added extra ingredients too.Must I say it was the best risotto I had ever made with thanks to Thermie007 as I have named him(hence my username here).

I see there are hordes of recipes here and I look forward to trying them out as I get a little more confident in using my machine here.Hubby is also looking forward to having a play with Thermie007 as well as he too likes to cook when he can.

Now off for a wander around the place here. :)

Even your DH could boil and egg in the TMX Gretchen - why don't you get him to try it one day  ;) ;)

Have you ever tried to get an 80 year old fart to do anything? Egg? Water? Pot? Boil? What sort of egg? Hot or cold water? How much water? How long? Which pot? What does boil mean? Can't you be specific woman?

Ploy?

Yes Gretchen, it is a ploy to get out of doing anything in the kitchen.  Go away for a few days, don't prepare any food for DH and he will have to do something to feed himself. You've spoilt him woman  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I thought he had money when I married him 44 years ago. Going by myself to see the Cricket in Brisbane next month. Whoopee! There will be nothing in the fridge or sure. He will have to eat out or cook? Waddyathink?

He'll eat out Gretchen. Make sure you have had all the salmon before you go. My DH says the TMX is brilliant but hasn't used it since about January. I plan to get him involved (and away from the Model A Ford) and make him cook something. He'll probably refuse to wash his greasy hands!

We love the Iced Coffee, so I'm wondering what did your hubby not like about it?  Maybe there's a trick I can suggest a sa fellow Iced Coffee lover?  It is very thick from all the ice, and more like a Frappe.

A BIG cheerio from sunny QLD!! 8) Sometimes the recipes just need to be tweaked to personal taste. My hubby hated the hot chocolate (EDC) the first time I made it - (said it was like hot cake batter in a mug!!) So I doubled the milk so as to 'weaken it' and it is now everyones favourite night time treat.  ;D ;)

Hi Cathybenson79,Soz,couldnt get back to you earlier our other puter is misbehaving & we seem to be down to one now and its no fun having to share here.He said it was a little too sweet and a bit in the strong department with the coffee.I used Nescaff too.I think once he adjusts those amounts he may hit on a winner!Any tips you have will be most appreciative, thanks.

Nay-Nay, A BIG cheerio from me here.Yes,I realise we can do a lot of tweaking with recipes to get them to suit our taste buds.Think that will be one of the pleasures & fun of having this machine.Oh,and we love the hot chocolate here too.
