Veal Pizzaiola Recipe Page 108
« on: October 28, 2009, 03:13:13 am »
Ok, I'm a very new user of the Thermomix and when I read a recipe, I'm one of those people who follow each detail - especially with a very new and different machine!
The above recipe advises to "add tomato puree, salt and olives ... then cook for 20-25 minutes, etc".  However, right AFTER these instructions, you are told to place the varoma with meat and vegetables into position.
Then it continues ... "at the end of cooking place the meat and veges on a serving platter ...".
I am presuming that the varoma containing the meat and veges should be "placed into position" BEFORE cooking for 20-25 mins.  Sorry to appear naive but I figure cook books usually know what they're talking about more than I do! ???

While I haven't made this recipe, what you are saying makes perfect sense.

I'd definitely put varoma containing meat and vegies ontop before cooking.  Hopefully someone who's made it will confirm for you.  Trust your instincts!

I haven't made this either, but it would be a major mistake to assume that the recipes in the Everyday Cookbook know what they are talking about!! :o
There are some problems with, to say the least! ;D

Just checked and yes, best to "put the Varoma in place and set to cook for 20 - 25 minutes" - need to contact Tenina
