Sweet Biscuits
« on: November 09, 2009, 07:16:24 am »
Ingredients
125g butter
200g raw sugar
1 egg
180g Self Raising Flour
1 teaspoon cocoa
drops of vanilla essence
130g peanuts (unsalted roasted)

Method:
Pre-heat oven to moderate temperature, and line tray with baking paper.

Add raw sugar into TM bowl, and blitz for 10 seconds, Speed 9
Cream butter and sugar for 1 minute, Speed 4
Add and mix remaining ingredients, 8 seconds, Speed 3
Then 10 seconds, Speed 3, Reverse
Roll into walnut size balls and place at intervals on tray.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until lightly browned.

Tip: Turn tray around at half time for even browning. Biscuits are sufficiently cooked if they move when you touch them lightly with your finger.

Cookie reduced the sugar to 150g.

Gosh, I remember making those when I was knee-high.  Think I ate more of the dough than got onto the trays  ;)

Thanks CP63 - a great little number (shame it's not Christmassy for our new challenge  ;) ;) )

I kind of like the old recipes, especially made in the TMX. I made some peanut cookies yesterday and DH said "Oh good, a tried and true recipe." I didn't tell him I had made them in the TMX.

I made these for our challenge. All I did different was to reduce the sugar to 150g. They are quite sweet enough.

I made some of these this morning and reduced the sugar to 180g as per chookie.  I think I will reduce it a little more next time as they are still a tad too sweet.  They are very moorish tho and I will be making them again :)
