Recipe Review Chicken in Yoghurt

Chicken in Yoghurt
From the Indian book
Tweaking
I only used 1 chilli, again I think I could have easily used the 2. I left out the fresh coriander as I don't like it at all. I only used 350g yoghurt as I felt that was enough. I used chicken breast cut into 2-3cm pieces.
We really liked this.  I served it with rice and Naan bread. We still had a lot of 'gravy' left so I quickly microwaved some pappadums and we used them to slurp the 'gravy'.

Score 4/5

I made this a few weeks ago and froze the left-overs.   We had these for dinner last night and they were still very tasty.

One very pleasant surprise was how much better the TMX rice was after freezing than rice I had previously frozen.  Not sure why this is but it encourages me to freeze TMX rice more often.

Katya, did you use absorption methods to cook the rice previously or boil it?

Thanks cookie1 for the review too.

Thermomixer - I think I used absorption method.  Put c.500 ml water in TMX and put rice in the basket.   I think of it as steaming but maybe that's what you call absorption.   With my rice cooker, all the water was absorbed but with the TMX the basket sits above the water and so you don't have to be exact in the amount of water you use.

Strange that it is so much better for freezing - may not be overcooked?

My DH loved this too - I made it the night before last with the naan bread from the same site.  I also made a cucumber raita with it.  The curry was delicious but it did have lots of gravy - next time I will probably use less yoghurt.  I'll post the raita recipe as well.

Yes - we loved the flavour but there was a lot of sauce.  I think the liquid amounts could easily be reduced.  :)

Made this a few days ago.  Hubby, aunt and 3 year old LOVED it.  There was a lot of sauce, and we had the sauce with shredded BBQ chicken and rice the next night...an instant meal!  Next time, I'll just add more chicken and it'll last 2 meals.   ;)

Made double the recipe quantity yesterday, i.e. cooked the sauce for 15 minutes in the TMX and then poured it over two kilos of diced chicken breast and cooked 45 minutes at 120C in the oven. Meat was beautifully tender. 1 1/2 the quantity of sauce would have sufficed in hindsight.

6 men ate all of this minus one portion, so it was definitely enjoyed :o

We had this tonight. We didn't have any turmeric or fresh coriander but it was still fantastic. Enough for another meal! I also made the Naan with Besan flour from the Indian book. This wasn't quite the same success though. They tasted nice but not quite like Naan from an Indian restaurant. Will try them again though.
