Shortbread moulds
« on: November 18, 2009, 12:12:42 am »
Have been looking for shortbread moulds - Does anyone know where you can get something like the 'Brown Bag' brand in Australia? The ones on ebay are a good price until you have to pay postage!  :o I asked in a kitchen shop while I was at 'the big smoke' on the weekend and the young girl looked at me as if I was alien so no help there!   :-\

I get that response a lot, usually when trying to source Rapadura Sugar, so glad I'm not the only one.  Sorry I can't help though, but I thought you could just use cookie cutters, and they're easy to find I think?

Would peters of kensington have what you are looking for.  I have brought online from them and find them very reliable.

Goodluck!!!

Not sure if these are the type - not available via internet so have to phone a friend in Sydney http://www.victoriasbasement.com.au/product_detail.aspx?ParCatID=&SubCat1=&SubCat2=&productID=10336  or these http://www.highlandhouse.com.au/view/miscellaneous/shortbread_cookie_design_mould_3.html

May pay to contact the Scottish Association - somebody may have some they don't want.

They're not the "proper" ones - but a few years ago I recieved some silicon flower shape moulds from Chefs Toolbox - perfect for mini shortbreads.
