Howdy from Sydney
« on: November 19, 2009, 07:24:37 am »
I'm yet another Thermomix wannabe!  What a treasure trove of info this forum is and I appreciate all the generosity of so many helpful members.

I finally got a new Vitamix blender that I've been dreaming of for 20 years last July (and I admit we adore it in our house) and just a week after I received it I discovered Thermomix - I had no idea such a brilliant machine even existed!  So, I'm back in savings mode and plan to get a Thermomix next year.  I don't mind having 2 machines because our oven has been dying this year (we're down to Turbo Grilling everything with a cookie sheet diverting the heat around  ;D  ) and we're discovering wonderful work-arounds to cooking food.

I toyed with the idea of getting a used TM21 from France via ebay... but don't know if saving a few bucks is worth it in the long run - I love shiny new toys with buttons.   :D

Cheers,
Eva

Hi Eva

Hope you enjoy the forum.  It's a lot of fun.  Did you notice there is a great finance option available until the end of December?  It might be better than being in savings mode.  Just worth considering.

In the meantime, enjoy the recipes.  There might some you can use with your blender?

Hi and welcome to the forum Eva.  Yes, check out the purchase options - don't waste a minute of not having a TMX.  You'll love it as much as we all do.

Welcome Eva.  To my mind it would be worth getting the TMX31 rather than spending less on the previous model.  From what I can see, the latest model is soooooooo much better than the earlier one.   Although, a TMX21 would be better than nothing  ;)

Hope it's not too long before you get your hands on one and, in the meantime, enjoy reading all about it on here.

Thanks so much for the welcome everyone!  Yes, I'm loving the Thermomix the more I read.  I'm not too disciplined at waiting so I'm sure I'll have one sooner rather than later.   ;D

Cheers,
Eva

Welcome Eva - you won't sleep through the night until you have a Thermomix - well worth checking out the finance option.

Good luck with your saving! You'll love it when you get it... ;D
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.
