Actually never mind - I just made the full batch. And YUMMO is the response. We had it tonight with some minced chicken rissoles. This sauce is delicious. It will make a wonderful housewarming gift for our friends tomorrow night.

Has anyone tried it with rapadura?
I've eliminated as best I can all white or processed sugars and it was my mum who asked me for this recipe and she is diabetic.

Hi curly66,
I have made both recipes, and I prefer this one. I have also tried making it with rapadura once. It makes the sauce very dark brown, almost muddy in appearance, but if you dont mind the colour, it still tastes great. Having said that, rapadura is quite expensive, and this recipe calls for a lot of sugar, so I just use raw sugar now.

Looking to make the Thai Chicken Sausage rolls which uses sweet chili sauce, and thought there must be a TMX recipe
Sounds like its well liked, and despite my dislike of sultanas I'll give it a go.

Let's know how you like it, Rob. Which recipe do you use for your Thai Chicken Sausage Rolls?

So just made this (with Dark Brown soft cane sugar rather than raw sugar as I can't get a hold of that, I debated some light brown cane sugar).
I'd blend it a bit more next time, still a couple lumps of sultana about (noticed when pouring out), the taste on its own isnt to bad but it's a smidge too far into the hot kick and not enough sweetness. I added a bit to some left over mince tart from the kids tea and it added a pleasant edge. So I'm a little undecided at the moment.
I try dunking a sausage roll in it later when I've made them

As I say there were only the part of a couple visible, otherwise they are all gone (I don't like seeing them either normally). I would just blend for a tiny bit longer next time (or scrape down in the middle). Good luck
My wonder is whether using the lighter color brown sugar would have made it a bit sweeter (I am a sugar novice).

Rob, if I want to make this a bit less hot (ie for the kids) I de-seed the chillies beforehand. Makes a big difference to the hotness.
Uni, I think dates would work fine. Good thought!

Thanks Karen, I will try that next time. Though even giving some of it away that might be a little while (it does make a lot) ...
(Who am I kidding, it will probably be sooner than later)
