I just weighed the sugar for you isi - 1 cup = 220g. The 4 teaspoons of fresh ginger weighed 15g. Use the long red chillies and leave the seeds in too.  If you used the small, hot ones that may be a different story.

I use the long red chillies and leave the seeds in.  If you want to take the seeds out you will have to double the amount of chillies to create the same amount of 'heat' (as per original recipe given to me).

It is a lot more economical to just include the seeds.

I made this yesterday - taste is yummo! I might put a little less water just so it is a bit thicker. I have had a huge supply of these chillies from my mum and dad's and everyone too scared to use them. The Habanero - is in the world's top Hottest chillies! You can feel the heat on your hands as your cutting them (and a couple hours after)

:o ! Did you use all Habaneros in your sauce Nay-Nay?

This sounds great, thanks TC!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

No, I used half red chillies with seeds and half habenero without seeds. I didn't think those yellow chillies would have that nice colour by themselves.
On another chilli story: My DS 11 had the dehydrator out with a bag full of chillies drying out and then put in TMX and whizzed it up into chilli powder today. The dust nearly killed us!!  :o

Good point Nay nay - I tend to put a clean tissue over the base of the MC with things like sugar and spices to stop them drifting out.

Reheated the sauce and tipped over a tub,(looks better than block) of philly cheese.   Served as dip.   Very nice.

This is a great recipe - thanks so much!  I made it today for the first time and my DH and I love it.  This batch is probably too hot for my little tots so I will probably leave some of the seeds out next time.  :)
