Sugar-Coated Almonds - alternative recipe from Vivacity

I bought my ingredients today. Now my only dilemma is which recipe to choose?

I'd go for the first recipe and finish off in the oven. The flavour of the oven roasted almonds was more intense and I preferred it. But you really have to watch them like a hawk so they don't burn.

It pays to wait until everyone else does the ground work for you.  I made these today - did the original recipe but cooked them in the oven as suggested and I couldn't believe how delicious they were. Not what I was expecting and so good I have to make another batch tomorrow. Thanks so much for this recipe and JulieO for working out the best way to make them.

Yes and a real winner for the hampers.  I was a bit worried about not knowing when the water had evaporated so I checked through the hole with a torch every now and then - that's a great way to see what is going on without opening the lid. Then when it had all evaporated I liked the way the machine noise changes and you just know it has got to the point you were waiting for.

HaHa Judy, I have a little torch that I use all the time, it's perfect for seeing what's happening.  I just wish I was a bit taller, have to go on my toes to look in

Glad I'm not the only one with the torch JulieO - great idea though I thought and now I have left my little torch on the window ledge for future peekings.

Maybe that should be in our list for improvements - an itty bitty booklight to go on top to look in and see hwat's happening?

I have only done Vivacity's recipe CC but isi's look the same and the recipe is not much different.  I'd say either recipe is fine - they are very moorish and you will not be able to stop at one!  Great for our Christmas hampers.

Thanks Judy for clearing my up query.They sound wonderful and definitely have to have a rerun before Christmas, just in the name of Thermomix recipe testing.
