Green Tea Yogurt (For 6-7 Yogurt Cups)
« on: January 08, 2010, 05:12:09 pm »
Hello !!!!!!!

And once I'm there  :)
Today is generally everywhere a GREEN TEA and ALOE epidemic.
There is everything  from washing powders to the skin cream...  - yes then we want to keep up as well

Here in Portugal there are green tea mixtures LIDL Supermarkets - Two kinds - One Green Tea / Vanilla and green tea lemon.
I tried with both. For my taste was delicious with lemon for the children the vanilla was delicious --
At both came the fruity flavor of lemon / vanilla ideal bridge but the fine kick from green tea tastes too clear!

Simply try it:

GREEN TEA YOGURT (For 6-7 YOGURT CUPS)

800 ml milk
3 teabags
80 grams sugar
2 tablespoon dried milk
1 120gram tub of natural yoghurt

And so it goes:
Give milk in the TMX - programme  90 º / Step 1.
When the temperature is reached put the teabags insideand let it rest for 10 minutes!
Then remove the tea bags and let cool the "infusion" to 37 º.(very important)
Then add sugar and milk powder - 3 min. / stage 4
Now put the Natural Yogurt - 15 seconds on stage 4!!
Put the mixture into the Yogurt machineglasses for 8-10 hours
Done!

For me this yogurts are great!
At the beginning of my experiments, I always leave the infusion to cool only to 50 º and there was nothing!!!  blherk  :-X
after the third time I left it cooled until the 37º so it was best!!  Not to forget pretty cool to 37 º  ;)
I hope it tastes as good as for us!
The yogurt is tasty and have a certain something  ;)

Isi, this is a great idea.  In your ingredients, how much is 1 natural yoghurt?

So in Aussie, we'd say 1 120gram tub of natural yoghurt.  Thank you for confirming.

Great work Isi - green tea is going to keep us all alive until we are 200 years old - it is similar here with green tea being added to things.

With cooling the milk - I let it cool until the 37º light goes out - then I know it is not too hot !!  As you say, when the 50º light goes out it is still tooooo hot - wait !!!

Very true.  Often I have gone to stir the milk after the 50o light has gone out, only to have it come back on again when the stirring motion has redistributed the heat.  Very annoying in yoghurt making when you have just added the starter.
