Tender Sand Balls
« on: January 10, 2010, 09:32:00 pm »
Hello :)

Today I will set a recipe that is in our "Portuguese" TMX 31 basic recipe book!
These biscuits are so delicious and tender - they melt on the tongue!
It is impossible that someone don't like them ;)
Very nice to tea or coffee or .............nothing :)

TENDER SAND BALLS

300 grams of flour
100 grams of sugar
1 packet Vanilla sugar (2 teaspoons Homemade) (see recipe below) or use a teaspoon of vanilla extract

200 grams of butter
1 pinch of salt
fine sugar to roll the cookies

Mix all ingredients in the TMX at Level 6 / 30 seconds.

Form Small  Balls (I make allways 16-18 gram Balls)
Put in preheated 180 º oven for approximately 15-20 minutes  ( each oven is different - the biscuits should not be too dark!) Now, take the ball from the baking sheet and roll in sugar and let cool on a grid!
Mhhhhhhhhhhhh   -  delicious
Hope you enjoy it

katesjoy - Vanilla sugar recipe from the EDC -  200g sugar, 1 vanilla bean cut into few pieces.  Put sugar and vanilla bean in a jar and leave for 2-3 days to dry out.  Transfer vanilla bean and sugar to the TM bowl and pulverise for 15 seconds on speed 10.

Nay-nay - They turned out perfect - like shortbread. The kids and hubby had a good laugh at the name too but enjoyed them. Thanks.

cookie - I made these using a teaspoonful of vanilla paste. They are lovely and very easy to make.

I so want to make these.  One question the Vanillasugar - you have recipe to homemake?

There is a recipe for vanilla sugar in the EDC Lexi.   200g sugar, 1 vanilla bean cut into few pieces.  Put sugar and vanilla bean in a jar and leave for 2-3 days to dry out.  Transfer vanilla bean and sugar to the TM bowl and pulverise for 15 seconds on speed 10.
