From Fast and Easy Indian Cooking
Delish! I used potato, carrot and pumpkin. The only thing I didn't use as I don't have any are fenugreek seeds.

A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Tell me, can you use coconut cream in this recipe instead of creamed coconut?

Neither have I Karen, you apparently buy it in a block but would not be easy to find in the suburbs one would think.

Creamed coconut blocks used to be more readily available than cans 30 years ago. You can get them in Indian/Asian food stores, usually in little green packs. But the cans & tetrapaks are easier to find in supermarkets.
brazen - what was wrong? not hot enough, enough Indian flavours?

This dish has a delicate flavour and is best as a side dish. I imagine it would be a little bland as a single dish meal.

really mj? i thought it was too strong and it was just a generally unpleasant combo! no one in my family liked it.
i wonder if i did something wrong?
thermomixer, i thought it just needs a different combo of spices, though i'm not sure what yet, i'll have to google or search some of my books for some ideas
