Yet another sceptic turned convert!
« on: January 23, 2010, 04:55:05 am »
Hi
I am the latest Themomix convert. Was totally sceptical about its claims when I heard about it, then intrigued and now totally converted!

I am madly going through all the recipes in the Forum to make up my own recipe book and try these delicious recipes.

I am also starting to get seriously addicted to this forum! When I am not on the Thermomix (very little time admittedly!), or playing bridge online (yes, another addiction), I am checking out this forum. The friendliness is just wonderful and amazing. A special thank you to the wonderful Thermomixer...for all your help.

Hi Courton, welcome to the forum.  I think most people are sceptical until they see the TMX in action - it speaks for itself and those who own one get to love them a little bit more each day.

Welcome Courton. You will get to arguments about the addictiveness of this forum. When my DH sees the "green screen" he now just shakes his head  :D :D :D. He never complains about what the TMX producers though.  ;D  ;D ;D ;D

Hello and Welcome Courton, the longer I've had it the more in love I am with it.  I found once I got over the initial nervousness and relaxed into it, I really enjoyed finding out just what it can do.  It doesn't disappoint.  :)

Welcome - it is a friendly forum.  No big egos - we are all learning.

Have you seen ILB's kulfi recipe - I was hunting through my books for a similar one that i had seen to convert - done already.

Welcom courton.  :)

You will soon find you sound like you sell them each time you try to explain what the TM can do to someone!

Welcome Courton. I think we all understand your feelings about the TMX and this forum.

Welcome Courton - I guess a TMX addiction is like any other addiction.  Totally absorbing but difficult to explain to people who aren't similarly addicted.   You're safe here as we're all the same  ;)

Which online bridge program do you use?  We play bridge regularly with another couple but more for the social aspect and the wine than anything else.

I used to be a social bridge player but decided to learn through a bridge club last year.
Bridgebase online is a great online place to practice and have fun. Try it!

CP63. When DD gets her house built we plan to give her a TMX as a house warming gift. She says she only uses it for rice, and pasta when we're away (if we leave it home) but she often mentions what she has cooked on it. Now we have the bag I don't think I'll be leaving it home anymore. Not even when we go away for a couple of weeks.

What a lovely Mum you are Cookie1 - I imagine you are not looking forward to the day when DD moves out though.

Welcome Courton! Nothing wrong with being a sceptic. I think they're the best converts!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Ain't that the truth! For the record, I was as big a sceptic as you can imagine... I didn't even want to let Bimby into my home for a demo! But because I so trusted the friend who showed it to me, I finally agreed, and the rest is history. A warning to you Courton... the addiction can get worse... first the Bimby, then the forum.. and next, you too may start a blog. You'll be taking food photos and then...?

Best thing about Thermomix for me has been all the FUN   ;D :o :-)) ;) it's brought into my kitchen and into my life. There's nothing wrong with being addicted to FUN,  ;D :o :-)) ;) is there now?

Cheers,
TMB
