Chewy Banana Slice?
« on: January 25, 2010, 03:14:57 am »
Last week I got an e-mail from TMX Oz that I think included a TMX recipe for a chewy banana slice or similar. Had chopped dried banana chips and shredded coconut in it, and it was a no-bake jobby.

Has anyone got this recipe? I'm pretty sure it was in the e-mail with cooking class updates but I seem to have permanently deleted it. If you could forward it to me that would be great :)

Oh poor you.  Do you feel as though you are missing part of an arm or something? When DD went to school I felt as though part of me was missing for ages. Even now 23 years later we are best buddies.

Had to laugh, my oldest is about to start pre-prep and I feel old (at 30).  How did I become mother to a school age child?  When did that happen?  And what was I doing while those years disappeared?  Ahh yes, the word uni springs to my mind as well......

I still have my eldest at home for another year thankfully.  I am already dreading the day he starts school.  When I return to teaching I will have so much more compassion for the tearful parents that part with their little ones each morning.  :'(

I sure did Chelsea. Although I didn't love them very much when they left scratch marks on my face or neck.

I felt being a parent made me a much better teacher, at least more understanding of the problems facing parents and how to deal with them. It is very hard to give your baby into someone elses care.

That summed it up perfectly C1. Another Mourning Mum said yesterday "nobody else is qualified enough to look after my son"!! We both have year 4 girls and Prep children (though I have two girls). I never struggled with my eldest, though she went to the last year of Qld's part-time preschool so it wasn't so dramatic. But handing over your baby full-time after they've been with you solid for so long, is REALLY hard  :'( They children seem to love it generally. I've only seen two out of around 25 who were crying. But my friend and I matched them, and I don't know how many more parents cried  :-\  :D

So true! I started my eldest at a childcare centre one morning a week when my youngest son was born to give me a little "toddler break".  My then toddler coped with it fine but I missed him terribly and started picking him up earlier and earlier (much to the amusement of the carers).  In the end he was only going for such a short time that I decided it wasn't worth sending him at all.  I'm such a sook when it comes to my babies!!!
