about to do my consultant training!
« on: February 02, 2010, 11:01:56 am »
hi everyone
i have had my tm for about 6 months and love it so have decided to go ahead and become a consultant.
i go to melbourne on tuesday for day 1 and am really looking forward to it.
how have others found being a consultant with young kids? is it hard to juggle both?
i am abit concerned that i won't get many demo bookings but am going to give it my best shot! any tips?

Good luck em - check the Demonstrators chat thread.  Some succeed and others have troubles.

You should PM some of the mums in the demonstrators chat thread too.

Meagan is kicking goals and ILB has been coping with Grace, faffa_70 seems to have boundless energy, QuirkyJo has been at it a while,  Can;t remeber this late about who else but think it depends a lot on support and you contacts list.

This has been written by somebody who has no kids and has wimped out on becoming a consultant despite many people having tried to encourage me  - so take lots of grains of salt with it  ;D ;D ;D

Hey Em, haven't been on here for a few days so sorry I've missed your postings.

Firstly: YAYYYY!!!!!! And congrats!!!!    ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Having a great hubby & extended family at home that will support you (read babysit kids for you) will make a huge difference. It won't be long until packing for a demo takes a fraction of the time than it did at the start and everything will run smoother. The beauty of it is that if you have a busy month with family commitments, you can control how much work you'll do with demos so can have a quieter month if needed.

Hey I'm a single mum and you can do it. So it'll be a breeze  :-*
Wish you all the best.

Thank you, yes pretty good. A few little niggles here and there but much better than prior to surgery.

It's hard to leave them, but personally I've gained a lot from TMX, so think of it that way.
All the best with training!

umm not sure, i dont think there is anyone else from up here going down for the training as janine would usually try and combine day 2 and 3 to save country people from travelling, but seeing as i am the only one from up here she may not be able to.  is there a couple more looking at starting up to? thats good.

Good luck with it Em  ;D I have a 1 and 3 year old and trained a couple of months ago. I found it hard to leave my breastfed babe for training but now that I am doing demos it is fine and my DH is really supportive so that makes it heaps easier :) Enjoy!

Hi Em, I hope it all goes well for you!  I love it - it's a good break for me, doing something I enjoy, as I homeschool my kids so getting out of the house on my own is a treat!  My kids are 12, 10, 8 & 6, so it's not so hard to leave them with daddy or G'ma, or one of the many friends who've volunteered, which is nice.  As ILB says, as long as you've got plenty of support, you'll be fine.  It's great being able to choose your own hours.

Have fun!  :)
