Where in the World is Waldo? I mean, the Indian cookbook...
« on: March 10, 2010, 06:29:21 am »
I have been trying to get hold of one of these babies since October.  I rang the head office  AGAIN just before Christmas to be told they weren't in yet and when I rang AGAIN in February I was told they had been and gone!  When I rang AGAIN just now they said they didn't know when they were coming.
Now, I may be naive...but I imagine that if I owned a business and ordered stock and it didn't arrive shortly after I had ordered it that I might somehow contact the supplier to determine a/ if the order had been shipped and if so when it had been shipped or b/ when it was likely that the order could be filled and then I would somehow communicate this to my customers.
As you can probably tell I'm pretty frustrated.

Perhaps one of the consultants on the forum may have a copy to sell?

I ordered mine in October and only received it a few weeks ago.. 8)

I after a copy of that too.  When I called out it, I asked if it might be weeks or months, and they really don't know.  It was suggest that I sign up for the thermomix newsletter and I would then get informed that it was available.  I thought I would probably know quicker from the consultants on the forum though!

When they first came out I'd ordered 6 and they were snapped up so quickly and I even had to sell my own copy thinking I could get more. So when they became available again I'd ordered more, only to find out nearly a week later that they'd run out and my order wasn't filled. I've promised books to customers and it's very frustrating not being able to get any information on them.

The books are from the UK as they'd over ordered them.  I'm now seriously considering ordering them through the UK website!  >:( :o

I also got the same story from HO. I got mine from the consultant. Worth calling her. The book is really good.

Might not be all HQ fault in Oz.  When they first came out and were not yet available in Oz I contacted UK and they said that they would not send one (with my Fast & Easy and Demonstrators' Delights) because they were short in the UK and so I would need to wait until they arrived in Oz.

Think that UK Thermomix may have underestimated how popular they would be and so didn't print enough.

Just add that I thought they were going to be like Full Steam and My Way of Cooking and I would get round it - but they just said NO.

I just emailed UK Thermomix- it will be interesting to see what the reply is.   Also, will email my consultant too.  Thanks for everyone's advice. :)

Until then, I'm happy to email anyone who is waiting for a book some of the recipes. If you're going to buy it anyway, that shouldn't be against the rules, should it?

pm me.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.
