No wonder DH's mates come round to your place astarra. All the good food you cook for them.

Thanx Michele - I love cooking, and these particular mates of his are good because they have hollow legs!! And they are always greatful for what they are given!!!! I have now got Raspberry blondies (off here) cooking...haven't tried them before so I hope they are good.. :)

Yes, Leo...he's going good thanx. I can't believe how fast he is growing - worse than a baby!!!  ;)  A farmer went into DHs work (they sell farm machinery) and said something about ".....(swear word) orphaned lambs" .... so sounds like another 1 or 2 will be coming to stay!?!  Once they are weaned they will go to a friend's farm then one he gets them butchered we will get as many as we have reared for the freezer - just not our 'pet' ones.  (How he is going to know which lamb is what once they are meat I'm not sure!!)  :)

That sounds like a good deal. Being a Kiwi you would love the lamb and it's so expensive.
Good for your girls too to have some responsibility for raising them.

Yes, I love lamb - we had slow cooked lamb chops in gravy last night, I was a little afraid the girls would not want to eat "cute little lamb" but they were no worries!! And I'm glad the lambs will be gone from here for a while before the meat turns up....!  :)

Pet lambs usually are friendly for life, and as sheep they are great for helping all the other sheep become quiet and easy to work with. We have a pet sheep that has just had a lamb of her own. She is in a paddock near the school, she waits at the fence of an afternoon for kids walking home from school hoping for a feed of someone's unwanted sandwiches :D, she is very spoilt and demanding lol. My DS (5) is a little scared of her though as she head butted him up the bum lol.

That's very country and home town dede.   I can't even keep chickens because of the foxes.

Miss 9 made apple and cinnamon pancakes from QFITT for tomorrow mornings breakfast.
She did a test run and cooked one.
Not very sweet which is a good thing.
Will review tomorrow after I actually eat a whole pancake instead of the crumb my daughter gave me  ;)

Dede the quiches look lovely, I bet they won't last long at all with your large family.

I love a curry pie. I can't wait to get rid of all the left over bits in the freezer, so I can cook some fun things again.
It's going to be an expensive exercise buying stocking the freezer again. Although, I only ever buy meat on special and as DS is a butcher I get a pretty good deal. I'm not going to over stock either this time round.

Today I've made rara's pancakes for breakfast, maddy's cheese & bacon rolls for lunch, lemonade (unfortunately too "lemony" for the kids, but I love it), and I've got lamb shanks in the slow cooker for dinner. Need to make biscuits, trying to decide what sort.
