Today I have been experimenting with soy milk. My husband says the stuff I make is too thin compared to what he used to buy in Singapore (probably Australian). So today I also ground organic brown rice and made very thick rice milk - I added 500ml thick rice milk to 1 litre soy milk 100gm of honey and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract. He says I am getting close! I hate the stuff so don't even taste it - has anyone else made a flavoured more "creamy" style of soy milk? The recipe in EDC is very thin and very strong smelling.
I have also just made the dough for another pullapart bread - have cut the recipe to 500gm flour and will see how it turns out, I am planning to add the savoury butter this time.

Made Bacon, leek and tomato risotto last night. Custard for the apple pie I had bought at the Model A rally. (fundraising)

Today I have made apple sauce, oatmeal and sultana cookies, very easy chocolate cake, 5 seed loaf and porridge.

Julie0, I agree, photos are amazing! Just one question, I don't have any recipes for stir fry veg at all here in Spain, and they would be great for my diet (I think??) Please could you, or someone else post me a stirfry recipe, with honey  :P :P :P yum.

Ps. Guys, have now lost 9 kilos! Missing you all loads, but once the kids go back to school, mid September, should be able to spend more time on here (can't wait)

Here you go Bron, it's from the EDC, but the soy/honey was a recommendation from this forum and it was lovely.

CHINESE STYLE STIR FRY VEGETABLES
30g olive oil
2 cloves garlic
1-2cm piece fresh ginger, peeled
500g mixed veg (eg cabbage, mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, snowpeas, red cap, chopped or sliced - I didn't use mushrooms, but used green beans, cut into pieces)
˝ tsp salt (didn’t add because was using soy sauce, even tho it was salt reduced)
2 tblsp oyster sauce or soy sauce (I used 1 tblsp soy + 1 tblsp honey instead)
1 small dried chilli (to taste)

PREPARATION: using scales on TM, weigh veg as you cut them up until 500g has been reached.  Remove to a bowl.

Place oil into TM bowl and heat for 2 mins at Varoma temp on speed 1.

Add garlic and ginger, sauté and chop for 2 mins at 100oC on speed 4.

Add veg and program for 7-8 mins at 100oC on Reverse + speed soft, but after 3 mins cooking time add salt(if using) oyster sauce/soy + honey and chilli thru opening.

Serve with your favourite recipe or as a side dish to meat.

I'm glad you enjoyed it Bron, but  I really can't take credit for it.  I've been trying to find the post of who suggested the soy/honey combo but am unable to find it.  So please whoever it is, thankyou for that suggestion.   :)

I am about to try a recipe that I saw on a blog a week or 2 ago.  It is for cinnadoodles - a cookie - and required Hersheys Cinnamon bits which I ordered from US Foods Online.  They were very prompt and the parcel arrived in the post yesterday.
I will have a go at converting it for the TM.

My "Termite" was used to  make dip, chop heaps of vegies for our crustless quiche, make a batch of chocolate and almond cookies (they were a bit dry) make heaps of icing sugar for the cupcakes I made and grind almonds for the macaroons I made. Oh and the varoma'd vegies for tea.

How did I exist before this machine arrived, it sure makes life easier.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

I made the Pea & Ham soup from the EDC earlier, more as a trial to see how it turns out as I couldn't imagine it being as nice as when I cook it on the stove top for a couple of hours, but I was wrong.  It was really nice. 

I didn't have a leek, so used a large onion instead of the 1/4 leek + small onion, and I needed to cook for about 15/20 mins longer, and I turned the heat up from 100oC to Varoma for a few mins as it didn't seem to be hot enough, then when it started bubbling out the top, I reduced back to 100o

After doing a taste test I felt it needed something, so I added an extra 2 tblsp veg concentrate (the leek & onion veg conc one) and cooked a further few mins.  When I was happy with the taste, I blended for a few seconds to make it pretty smooth and slightly thick.  I was very impressed, and everyone had a taste and liked it so this will be our tea tonight with some fresh rolls. 

I think next time I will revert to my usual method of frying off the onions (garlic and bacon too in this case) in a frypan first as I do think it gives dishes a nicer flavour, but saying that, today I did it in the TM and it still turned out good ;D

Try adding some water to the onion/garlic/leek etc and cook at 90 for 5 or 6 minutes
