TMX has been going flat strap today, it's my Mum's birthday so they are coming for lunch.

We have made
 - cream and icing for the birthday cake
 - lemon and garlic-salt crust for the chicken
 - mashed potatoes
 - orange and lemon-ade
 - apple sauce - cause I was going to make biscuits which I still haven't done
 - will make orange and lemon sorbet for lunch as well, ready to serve

I had my demo last night - so thankful to finally have my thermoservers, makes it so much easier.

I feel like I have made more, but I guess its the other stuff - roast veg, sponge cake etc!  The oven has been on since 8am.

Tea tonight - sandwiches for the kids and leftover mushroom risotto for us.  YUM

We had our pasta with pesto last night and feta stirred through it and beetroot in tiny squares on the top. It was from the British Good Food magazine. At the time I was worried that not everyone would like it but we loved it. The only thing the TMX was used for was the pasta and pesto was done a while ago.

Today I firstly made the beef stock concentrate, or in my case beef stock cubes  :D

My plans for tea were fillet steak with asparagus and hollandaise sauce (TM) and the Chinese stir fried veg (TM) and some baby potatoes.

How good is it to use the TM bowl for weighing, as in preparing the veg for the 'stir fry'.  I got all the veg out that I wanted to use,(cabbage, carrots, red capsicum, snow peas, few green beans and broccoli), cut into nice sized amounts, and just added to the bowl until the 500g was reached. Prepared everything else so when it was time to start cooking, it was easy.

Started cooking the veg first, then the steaks.  I used the suggested 1 tblsp soy sauce (salt reduced) and 1 tblsp honey as the flavourings for the veg.

When the veg was ready I put into a heated thermosaver container, covered and put aside,  while I cleaned out the TM bowl and made the hollandaise sauce (how easy is that in the TM).  Meanwhile the steaks were ready, so put to one side to rest and quickly cooked the asparagus.

Absolutely loved this meal and have enough veg left over as a side for another meal.  Also have lots of hollandaise left over.  Will make half quantity next time.

I should have waited a couple of minutes after the hollandaise was made before pouring over the steaks and taking the photo as it thickened up rather nicely, though it was still very nice.

Made red curry paste then the red curry chicken with rice. Also some custard for my little guy. DH is now finishing off the last of the stewed pear to make some more souffle like we had last night.

Well, tonight's Chinese cabbage rolls were horrible although DH ate his (mine went in the bin). Time to put my head in the recipes again and see what I can come up with for the coming week.  Made a batch of chicken soup today too.

Lot's of cooking here as today is our family's annual "Happy Adoption Day" (a big celebration lunch with family in honour of our eldest son joining our family).  Thermie and I whipped up pumpkin soup, sausage rolls, 3 cheese pizza scrolls and a big chocolate cake to cater for the party.  :) :) :)

Yes - both the boys love our family's special day! They each receive a little present, we revisit the photo albums and sing a special song with Poppy playing the guitar (and of course have a big lunch together).  It is an emotional day but very special. :)

That is so sweet, Chelsea.  Your boys are very blessed to be in such a loving family.  Sounds like you have fun!  :)

My husband and I adore Ethiopian food and cook it regularly.  Sadly though there wasn't even a hint of berbere here today Thermomixer.  Our biological son quite likes habisha food, but our Oziopian son isn't so keen  ???.  We will be celebrating the Ethiopian New Year on September the 11th with my converted recipes for the celebration dish of Doro Wat (spicy chicken and eggs) with Injera (using the last of our precious teff).  I will post these on the forum beforehand.
