Chookie I desperately need to make some jam. Must get my act into gear and do so.

This is the last week of the Beetroot trial Judy.

Cookie,  i was wondering if you were starting to look pink? ;D ;D ;D
Judy,  DH took all the green bits off,  and i started cooking,  all in the TMX.   I decided to do it this way as I wanted to try a combination of recipes.  There were 8 punnets of 500g each.  It took from 4.00 to 8.00pm.  however I did lots of other jobs once I knew exactly how long each batch would take.  Each jar cost less than $1.  I used apple wind falls and lemons from our trees.  I also used home made vanilla essence.   Think i might post the recipe as it is pretty fool proof and has an intense strawberry flavour. There is not liquid , except the vanilla and lemon juice.

CP, I sterilise the jars and pour in the boiling jam,  pop the lids on straight away and turn upside down.  As the jars cool they draw in the top of the lid and seal.
Some people put the filled jars in a water bath but I don.t.  I have not had any jars go off.  I only do fruit,  not veggies.

Go for it CP - there are probably plenty of recipes still waiting for someone to try them.

CP,  DH loves your cream puffs.  Recently he had one when out and it had toffee on it.  Would you like to see if you could work out how to do this. ?   No problem if you don't.

Choline that am looks great. I never have success sealing jars turning them upside down, I always end up with some escaping. I've never been able to get sealing right.

I'll be helping cook a gazillion sausages and 3 huge bags of onions at Bunnings in Midland if anyone wants to come for a sausage sizzle  :o
Raising money for Miss 11's Scout Group, some are going to Singapore in June.  ;D

I think I might not want snags for tea by the time we're done!

Nothing much.

Thought I would say in the last 4 weeks I have made 11 new recipes, 9 of which we loved. Have started a page on Notes  on ipad stating where they came from for a quick reference.

What do others do?

Finally made the last batch of tomato sauce. Only have the sweet chilli and the tomato quetta to go.
Have been playing around with the mini ipad and trying to get smaller photos direct through tapatalk, but having no luck.
