Just made some mini pies....then the shopping was delivered, and I realised i don't have room in the freezer for the pies now (were meant to be for lunchboxes when school goes back)....about to have a sort out and see what I can do.  Still have some filling leftover, so going to make more another batch of pastry and hope I can find some room.

Squeezed them in  ;D

We only have a side-by-side fridge/freezer, and it has a massive ice maker/dispenser.  :-)) I keep working on DH about getting another freezer...we have a drinks fridge in the garage!  He doesn't think we need to have loads of meat and loaves of bread on hand, but really I want it so I can cook a bunch of lunchbox food and just pull it out as needed - he's the one who moans most about lack of variety in the lunchbox too, of course.

Finally used the last of the plums in some plum/raspberry jam.  Now to make some tomato relish and onion jam.  :D

I have one of those side by sides jo and I agree they are tiny. They really are more suitable for no more than 2-3 people. Outlaws were downsizing and we scored their freezer and I just bought a fridge with no freezer for the garage also. Now I finally have room in the kitchen fridge. The neighbors gave us a small bar fridge as when they moved into their new house it included white goods.

Just catching up on several pages. Great cooking.
Cookie that bread looks amazing.  When we were in Sicily they were selling sweet buns with ice cream In the middle.  Didn't like it.
Lots of cooking today as cool.  Chow Mien which grew and grew.   Will make Spring Rolls with left overs.  Meat loaf, from chicken mince.  Haven't made this for 20 odd years.  Then some dumplings,  inspired by the recipe in this years calendar. Doubled the mushrooms and water chestnuts and did a taste test by steaming a little pork mix before making dumplings.  Needed more sauces for our taste.
If meat loaf is O K ,  will post recipe as it is 1/2 calorie of beef and very easy to make.

Sounds like a great cooking day for you Suzanne :)

I made pikelets for breakfast then granola, Mrs Mason's Nuts & Bolts, KFC Spice Mix and Garam Marsala for a hamper for my SIL. The goodies in the hamper need to be able to happily sit in the car for a few hours so I thought these were safe (and yummy) choices.

We only have an upright freezer and the bottom of the fridge freezer too, so I often have to do lots of reshuffling..... Would love a chest freezer but have nowhere to put one.  :(  The under fridge freezer is used for lunchbox stuff, the upright is used for meats, veg etc

Made milo muffins for lunchboxes today, now sitting down with the 2 school kids to write a list of what they would like in their boxes this year.  :) Miss7 goes back on the 5th Feb but miss4 doesn't start til 10th Feb.

What a lot of planning you mums do.  Have just cleaned out freezer on top of fridge, some very suspect containers,  all out. Can now plan what to cook using up what is there.

I have a question if I make a lasagna is it best to cook it first then freeze or freeze it uncooked? I make my own pasta and not sure if it makes a difference :D
