Astarra, it seems nothing stops you from doing things for the girls.  Perhaps Miss 7 can help you out with some things?

She would - & did - but is having a short stay at the in-law's place with her little cousin who she doesn't see that often.  :) I didn't have the heart to say no when MIL asked her to go.  :)
Miss4 has helped with unloading and loading the dishwasher etc, miss3 has taken charge of clearing & wiping the table after every meal... :D

Judydawn I don't use the wheelchair unless I want to go out as I don't have the energy to stand for long or walk very far.  I must get a high stool so that I can sit to do things in the kitchen.  I am only just getting the energy to do anything in the kitchen after being home from hospital for almost 6 months

Penny, that's a gorgeous photo!!

I was invited in by my neighbour to share some wonderful soup for lunch.  I didn't have much time but wanted to take something in to contribute to the table and thought savoury mini muffins might be good.  I found this http://www.recipecommunity.com.au/recipes/spinach-and-fetta-muffins/35705 but followed some of the suggestions/tweaks in the comments section: reduced the oil by 50 gm and added an extra egg; left out the salt and pepper and used what veg stock I had left (not quite the full  tablespoon that was recommended) and added chopped basil, sun dried tomato, feta cheese and some cheddar to make up the weight,  Straight out of the oven these are lovely and went well with the beef and vegetable soup.  Next time, I think I'll add more of the basil and tomato and maybe even include some chopped fresh chilli or dried chilli flakes . . . :D

Will keep these in mind for future soup meals. . . :D  Didn't use cases, just greased the mini muffin pan with butter.

Sounds lovely GF. They sound like they would freeze well too. I always like to have some finger food in the freezer for visitors that drop by unexpectedly or I need something to take into work.

I love a quote from the movie Mermaids with Cher. Her daughters were always served finger food because that's all she could commit to.  ;D

Just catching up.  Great discussion and photos girls,  thanks.
Made pumpkin soup in mini SC while at Farmers Market.  It was a bit thin when I zapped it in the TMX,   So added a handful of Cashew nuts.  A lovely creamy soup, gluten and dairy free.
Cooked Rhubarb and apple to fill the pastry that is used for Belgium tea cake.
Baked a tomato and onion Charlotte in AF  to go with roast chicken with an interesting marinade and different cooking method, from David Lebovitz's new book.

Gert,  think I will cook the Black rice in SC.  More energy efficient.

Love the discussion on potatoes as we are in a potato growing area.  We can buy excellent pots for 50 cents a kilo.   I microwave mine, let cool then roast or chips. Important to have them cold and dry.   Love what Astarra does with her spuds.
