I made a Boiled Apple Fruit Cake today. It is from an apple book from Tassie that some gorgeous person gave me.  The raw mixture was very delicious.
I'm making sausage rolls for the freezer as I found out today I may be severely limited in what I can do for a few weeks after my back op. I will be able to stand over DH as he cooks.

I have those books too cookie  ;) - some nice recipes in them. I was looking at the savoury ones again the other night.

Today I've made bolognaise sauce from TRTLMT using some vegetable passata from the freezer.  Everyone's been talking about this site lately so I spent a bit of time the other night having a look at her recipes.  This one, cooked in the steaming basket, has been on my list of 'to do' recipes since it was mentioned on our forum.  Tastes good, will have 1 lot over spaghetti tonight for tea. It's been so long since I made bol sauce, long before Geoff went into care so I'm looking forward to it.

Yes I have just been reading about your heat. Poor things. Chilled bubbles sound good.

Very dear friend sent me a gift of lemon infused EVOO and with it came a complimentary bottle of what they called Capsicum finishing vinegar. I mixed 125 MLs of oil with 25 MLs of the vinegar,  nothing else. And it made a beautiful salad dressing. As I had bought a tray of capsicums for $3 I thought I would have a go at copying the Vinegar.  The TMX is perfect for this type of thing.  The result looked nothing like the original but the Flavour was fab.  It had the smoky flavor of the roasted capsicums. I will post the recipe as I think it would make a very different Xmas gift.   As well as using it in a dressing it would be nice brushed on chicken or veggies or as a sauce like plum or sweet chilli.

Chookie that sounds delicious. I'd love it to pop over fish or chicken.
