I have made some spicy red lentil soup. The one time I wanted to use the recipe chip and it won't work. Comes up with an error code and says switch off. Having done this 3 times and still not worked I resorted to the ever reliable book!

Love the brownie too.
Today I made donna hay lemon yoghurt cake which stuck to bundt tin and is now in pieces, chicken and leek pie which was runny and apple pie which turned out great. One out of three.

Disappointing Kimmy but the apple pie sure is a winner.  I can't remember the last time I had a piece of apple pie but I do love a good home made one.

I made Nikki and Nerissa's Thai Sweet Potato Soup and Alyce's Cheat's Sour Dough for dinner tonight. The soup is quite similar to one VHJ put on the forum. We all enjoyed it.

Cookie, how does the Cheats SD compare to the real thing?
Kimmy,  never mind about the recipes that didn't work as that beautiful Apple Pie makes up for them.

Yesterday it was Market day so I cut the Chocolate. Prune and Walnut Brownie into 9 pieces, popped them into small plastic bags and took them to the market. I gave one to each stall holder that I regularly buy from,  to have with their coffee for morning tea. ( Ral bought some coffee). These people always look after me and select the best of what they have . It was cold and misty and I think brightened up their day a bit.

Yesterday day from the swap I got Chestnuts, some seedlings for the veggie patch, silver beet seeds, 1 large white beetroot, bunch of rhubarb, bunch of Italian. Parsley, and 6 Anzac biscuits that had Dried Apricots in them.

The loaf looks nice cookie, I'd also be interested in how it compares to the real thing.

When will you be ready to plant out your seedlings Chookie?  Market day must be a very special day for you, catching up with the locals, sharing your cooking and never knowing what you'll pick up from the swap table.

This forum really is a feast for the eyes 8) 8) 8) So much great cooking.

Sadly I have very little time for cooking these days. I did make those lovely sourdough apple butter muffins at midnight last night when I noticed the sourdough starter was about to overflow.

Today's cooking will be to use up milk that has just passed its use by date  but still smells fine. Chocolate custard, béchamel sauce for lasagne, Armenian nutcake and maybe easy apple streusel cakes if there's time.

Djinn I, you still are managing to make some interesting stuff.
Judy, yesterday was especially busy.  Market, morning tea with friends and then visitors for Afternoon tea who wanted to checkout the veggie patch and chooks.
Today ate the first Mandarin of the season so thermomixed the rind with sugar to use in cakes.
The front cover of Gourmet traveller this month has a yummy self saucing Apple and ginger Pud.  It is similar to my Apple Caramel Pud, except that it has candied ginger added.
I am also experimenting with a new deconstructed sushi recipe.

Chokkie that looks good. I was discussing a mandarin and star anise salt last night with my husband.
