I bought some fresh rhubarb this morning on my way home from my walk and made Amanda's 'Roasted rhubarb shortcake'.
After roasting the rhubarb, I scraped the syrup left in the roasting pan into a bowl to use as a drizzle over the top when serving. Completely forgot to do this before taking the photo
but it looked really good with the contasting colours.
I would try adding a little extra sugar next time, maybe only 20g unless my orange was sweeter, but it tastes wonderful and the shortcake was lovely and crunchy especially with a sprinkle of raw sugar on top for that added crunch.
I had a slice as my lunch today. Recipe has gone into my files.

It looks fabulous Julie. I saw this on Amanda's blog and thought how nice it sounded.

I made some of the Berry and Chia Jam from Tenina's new book. I really like it. At first the chia was yuk, but as the jam cooled it softened. The chia thickens it, instead of lots of sugar.
I also made another loaf of farfallina's slow fermented bread. It's delicious with the jam on it.

Julie, that looks yummo. Good use for Rhubarb.
I made Raspberry jam and it didn't set, in fact as it cooled it got runnier. This is the first time in over 50 years of jam making that I have had a flop. I can recook it with some jam setta or keep it as Raspberry syrup. There are 8 jars so may recook.
Lots of tradies coming tomorrow so need to bake biscuits and slices today.

The tradies certainly like being fed. We had a man come and replace the windscreen on DH's car. We gave him coffee and DH took him a plate of biscuits with about 8 on the plate. I commented that it was too many, DH replied he didn't want to look stingy. The windscreen man ate all of them and asked for the recipe as his wife has a thermomix too. Poor man probably hadn't eaten any lunch.

I made a few pies with some of the beef casserole I slow cooked yesterday. I recently bought 5 kg potatoes for 99 cents, a tiny to small assortment. The tiny ones are too small to peel so I steamed them in the TM basket then mashed them with 3 confit garlic cloves to use them up as they are not much good for anything else.

Looks good Judy. Those pie machines are very good. Real bargain with the potatoes.
I had good intentions but only got Macadamian Anzacs , Pinapple fruit cake , and pumpkin soup cooked.

That will be enough for starters for the workers Chookie.
Your worker obviously enjoyed your biscuits cookie, 8 is a lot to eat in one sitting. I hope his wife appreciated the recipe.
