I make a lovely paella, however the sofrito and fumet (fish stock) is made in THX, the rest is made in a paella dish on the hob, or a big deep ish frying pan, will post the recipe for you. Mine fed 6.

This morning a banana, milo, egg, almond, oatmeal smoothie to get the kids moving!
That sounds great Amanda - my kids love a good smoothie, almost as much as a good pikelet!  Have you got a recipe or is it just an approximate throw together?

I just threw it all together, then chucked the milo in to give them a chocolate hit!  I used 2 bananas, 1 egg, milk, a handful of almonds, a handful of oatmeal, some plain yoghurt, a few ice cubes and the milo.

Loads of comfort stuff made for the kids yesterday.
EDC Pikelets for breakfast - with the gingered fig recipe from my blog, then my eldest decided to make scones yesterday afternoon and last night I made a batch of EDC Anzacs for the lunchboxes.  Don't think much of the EDC recipe, so I won't use it again.

Lucky kids! I really like this Anzac recipe. The secret is don't mix it too long otherwise the oats get over processed. This recipe won the junior anzac bickie comp at our local show.  ;)

We were very disappointed with the recipe.  I followed the recipe precisely and didn't over-process, but they were quite dry and didn't spread at all.  Nothing like the anzacs my aunts made.
I will go back to their recipe.

Thanks Amanda, that's along the lines that I would have guessed.  We have few repeats in our house as I always try something different depending on what's around.

Today, I made Kumquat jam,  more peel for the fruit buns,( chopped it up beautifully),  and tested the recipe in EDC for Hot Cross Buns,  Very good recipe as others have also found.

Good to know about the hot cross buns - was going to give them a go tomorrow.

OK, I have had my TMX since Sunday (so not even a week) and so far I have made:

Coffee
Raspberry sorbet
Shortbread
A few breakfast smoothies
Chick pea and spinach soup
Vanilla custard
Spag bol
Steamed fish, veges and hollandaise sauce
Coleslaw
Confit of onions (Which I made up on the spur of the moment and tasted good)
2 loaves of bread
...and probably other stuff which I can't remember at the moment!

So quick, so easy.  Amazing, really.

Spelt bread rolls in the oven at the moment.  This is the first time I have had a good rise out my dough!  I put the yeast in 100mL of warm water to activate it, and got the rest of it ready, then added the yeast mixture.  Also put the dough outside (hot day today) to rise.

Bron...you paella looks wonderful!

Today I've made
Vegetable Soup with Bacon & Pasta
2 x Blitz & Bake Beetroot & Chocolate Cake (haven't tried it yet, but if it's good I'll post the recipe - batter tasted insane!
Wholewheat Apple Muffins (supervised 4.5yr old DD)
Beef Stroganoff

Can't believe I've made so much food already today (it's only 2pm) and have done lots of other things as well.  It's so quick.

Good on you Cathy.

I had a great time today - loaf of bread, strawberry jam, vege concentrate, Cathy's ham and cheese scrolls (highly recommended) and unConundrum's Bearnaise sauce recipe.

How could anyone make all that in one day and not even break a sweat without a TMX?

Birthday season here for the next month.    We all have our tasks,   DD makes the cakes,  I do the dips and sweets,( isi's coffee one in great demand),  DIL  does mains.  This  is great because for the last 40 years I have done the lot. ;D ;D ;D.   ;D    So in the last couple of days I have cooked.......Isi,s coffee sweet, my chocolate delight, bread, mushroom risotto topped with garlic prawns,  tomato paste, avocado dip,  sweet potato dip and a new sauce for chicken which is a zapped mixture of onion, soy sauce, red wine vinegar and olive oil.   All so easy.
