Made a delicious wood-smoked salmon and potato casserole tonight and some little baguettes.

The fish dish was parsley chopped and set aside,  onion and garlic chopped and sauteed then flour and milk added to make a white sauce, Removed and potato offcuts and milk for mash in base with potato dice and eggs to be added to the casserole in the TM basket and smoked fish in mik in a tray in the Varoma.  Cooked about 20 mins at varoma temp then fish and potato dice and eggs aside while mash finished.

Peel and rough chop eggs and fish and add to potato cubes and then mix in parsley and white sauce and test for seasoning.

Cover with the mash and sprinkle some cheese over & into oven for 10 mins to brown.

No pics - too hungry

Could you do that with smoked cod, Thermomixer?

Thermomixer,  that sounds yummy.   Reminds me of a dish from years ago.... dish lined with mashed potato, cheese white sauce with hard boiled eggs and asparagus as filling.   Topped with garlic bread crumbs.

Made Yotam Ottolenghi 's aubergine 'cheesecake'.   Adapted for TMX.  I will post under Vegetarian as it was very tasty,  and met with approval from others at our picnic on the Mount.  It would serve as a vegetarian main,  with salad,  or entree.  Also very easy to make.

I haven't been doing much cooking lately but yesterday made a huge slow cooker full of Irish Stew (despite the current 32o in Adelaide and that is going to last us 3 days - it is delicious.  I reckon I can do a batch in the TMX though and will have a go next time I fancy this dish.

I have just made a batch of choc-chip Hot Cross Buns which turned out a lot darker than my first lot of normal HCB's last week.  I had to leave them in the whole 15 mins as they weren't cooked at 10 but they are OK.  Made a better job of the piping by not cutting the hole so big and finished them off with some warmed apricot jam which I then pushed through a sieve and painted on (read this idea on another forum).  It gives a glossier finish than the sugar syrup in our recipe.

One problem I did have though was after adding the sultanas and choc chips, the blades simply would not turn to mix them through.  Gave up after a couple of tries and mixed them in by hand.  I cut the quantity of sultanas down to 70g and added 100g choc chips.

JD I think it would work well with smoked cod.  The salmon looked more like cod - not like the orange sliced smoked salmon, but one big chunk like smoked cod/haddock.  That's why I treated it like smoked cod.  Think it would be perfect for Easter.

Big cook up today,  isi's Portuguese roll.  (made 12 dinner rolls),  2 lots of HCB, 1 wholemeal loaf, 1 sourdough loaf,  and cathy79's Beetroot and Chocolate Cake.   Thanks cathy, very easy and very chocolaty.   will eat it with raspberrries and cream.

porridge
scones (nay nay's recipe - worked a treat)
loaf of wholemeal bread
isi's stuffed baguettes (one lot with bacon and onion, the other with ham off the bone, seeded mustard and cheddar)
chicken meatballs from EDC (very good recipe)

I look to the forum for all my recipes and tips - thank you all!  No mis-haps so far - only successes, and only two weeks into the TMX journey...I love the forum as much as I love my TMX!

Made these Cappuccino Cupcakes today. Was a recipe on BH&G a week or so ago, where they were made in a processor, so quite easy to make in the TM.

Baked 6 in these gorgeous little pots I bought last week and the other 12 in a normal muffin pan.  Supposed to put a choc covered coffee bean on top, but I used choc coated sultanas instead.

Hi everyone
I think because its the season for hot cross buns. I will make another batch up, but let the kids do most of it and I will supervise. Not sure how my Patience will go, but it will entertain them for a while. they will then be rewarded by eating till they are content (in otherwords not very long lol) and have something to talk about at school for news.

I'm in the process of making Valerie's yoghurt. Have done some tomato sauce for tonights pizzas, made some 5 seed bread and a batch of Isi's rolls for the freezer.

Julie, they look lovely, especially in the little bowls.

thanks Judy, Thermomixer and Cookie  :D

I've got to let you know that they weren't very nice, well I didn't think so anyway, though I liked the frosting.  So I sent them with DH to work tonight to give to some of the guys he works with  ;D

The little pots worked well though.  The cakes came out without sticking, so am happy about that.  :D
