Instead of the Rhubarb and Apple pie, I decided to do a cheese and fruit platter for lunch.

I’ll have a piece of everything LOL.  I hope your visitors enjoyed the lovely meal Chookie.
I’m still eating my piece of corned silverside, lunch and tea until it’sall gone but I do love it.
Soup weather for you in the UK Denise.

I made some Jerk Spice from Tenina's new book. I had planned Jerk Chicken but I didn't have time to make the rest so we just used it as a rub. It was very nice.

The fruit and cheese platter was a great success.  Will be doing more of this sort of thing.

it's certainly easier and healthier for the summer months. I find people like to just dawdle over the fruit platter and chat.

I made Kim’s Fruit Cake. This is for DH’s Mum who’s birthday it is next week. I have another more traditional fruit cake macerating to cook later. A new recipe for me to try from Nancy Birtwhistle who was the winner of GBBO series 5. It will be interesting cooking it overnight.

I made some pizza dough for dinner on Sunday night. It only has 1/8 teaspoon of yeast so rises slowly in the fridge. I also made some of Tenina's Marinara sauce. It is a tomato sauce and is in her new book.

The Nancy Birthday Christmas cake that was cooked overnight was a success. :D I’ve made a jar of Strawberry and Vanilla Jam, recipe from Tenina.
