Cookie,  that shortbread looks delicious. I’ll have the small bit at the top,  to start with.
I have been reading an article about experimenting with using a combination of SD and yeast in bread. Think I might play around with this a bit.  Too cold to go outside.

Nice shortbread Cookie.

Beef casserole in the SC, Chicken casserole in the oven & zucchini patties.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Thanks ladies. DH has just eaten the last bit. I hope to make this today.

It's too cold and wet here to go outside too.

Chookie I love the Classic bread as it uses SD and yeast. It rises much more quickly  in this weather too.

Just had to try the Malted Barley that I bought yesterday. After we have tried the loaf, I will make adjustment, if required. Then post.
Quite spectacular.

KAtie, the Malted Barley and grain loaf was surprisingly very good. It had a thin crisp crust and light soft crumb.  I am calling it a Conversation Starter. Will post recipe when I have a chance.
This is lunch using some cut slices.

Turkey meat loaf.

Malted Barley Crumpets.   Rather strange looking. Will try for breakfast tomorrow.

Chookie you have been very busy. The malted barley foods look amazing and must have an incredible flavour.

Cookie, although very dark, the Malted Barley has a lovely light malty flavour.   Very surprised.
I’m calling it ‘ Conversation Starter’.
Ral really liked it and he is ultra conservative in his tastes. It was very nice with both Savory and sweet toppings.
I will make it again before I put the recipe up.

Fantastic cooking Chookie. Your bread looks exceptionally good 8) I wouldn't mind one of those Date Scones and the a slice of the Turkey Meat loaf.
