Wow, what a birthday cake - how many did that serve cookie?  I often wonder, when serving those high cakes is a slice the whole depth of the cake or just 1 layer?

DD said some people take the entire cake, but have s tiny bit and others share the layers with someone. I think the recipe said it served 12. the tins are only 16cm round.
No cooking here today.

Pumpkin and Date cake , recipe from a Thermomixer ?  Adapted method but used ingredients.   Also made a coconut and raspberry slice. Adapted from Donna Hay.

Nice cakes Cookie and Chookie.
Not a lot of cooking happening here, although I did make some Lemon Cupcakes for the GD yesterday.

Cookie, that rye bead looks very nice.   Must give it a go.
The pumpkin and Date loaf is highly recommended. The original recipe was from theannoyedthyroid.com. Thanks. The changes that I made were, microwaved pumpkin, added hot to chopped dates, then everything else. Baked in long cake/ bread tin.

I make some of the annoyed thyroid recipes. I will check this out. She makes lots of yummy cakes and biscuits but she also runs a lot. Good on her.

KATIE, when I convert a cake recipe, I always cream the sugar and butter.  It helps if you make caster sugar first. ( I keep a container that I have previously made )  I then add eggs one at a time and the the rest all together .
Last night to the Worm lecture , I took a container of Chocolate Chip biscuits.  They certainly weren’t the best I have made , but we’re pounced upon and declared delicious.  I really wonder what people are eating.
Today I am going to try and make the chickpea crisps that we had at Masons.

Cookie inspired me to make a fruit loaf (bread), but as I don't have a bread machine I used JulieO's Fruit Loaf recipe.  It is still rising at the moment.
