Last night I mixed two overnight SD loaves.  One with some Rye flour, the other will be an olive loaf.
When I killed my original SD starter, l scrapped a bit from the bottom of the container .  I fed it up and at the same time grew a new starter.   For 2 weeks I have had 2 starters going.   Both smell very different.  Last night I decided which one I would continue with.  The old one won.  I have used the new one to make today’s new loaves . So I can say that the original 40 year old starter is still going.

Well done Chookie. I’ve lost mine again but I’m sure Katie will come to the rescue when and if I want to return to breadmaking some time in the future.

That’s good news Chookie. I have a SD loaf rising after being in the fridge overnight. It is a recipe from the Facebook site. Sourdough Baking in Australia. It seems a lot of bother so it had better taste nice. I usually end up going back to the same 2 or 3 recipes.

Great news Chookie about your SD starter.
I made a loaf of bread, a new batch of Madras Curry Powder and Kedgeree for dinner.

I was half way through making the SD loaves when the hospital rang  to say Ral could go home.   One loaf was ready to put in the oven but I put it in the fridge instead.  When we got home I put it outside in the heat to quickly come to room temperature but it was caught in thunderstorm and covered in hail. I baked it but not a good result. When I cut it, if not nice the Chooks can have it.

I had a chuckle at the bread.  I would have done the same. Blow the bread if Ral can come home..

I cooked the SD loaf that had been in the fridge overnight. It is a very soft loaf and very seedy. The taste is nice though. I will probably make it again but use my own method and the thermomix more.

Yesterday I made loaf of bread.  It was nice to be back in the kitchen using thermie.

Good bread news Cookie and Mab.
I made 2 bread sticks and the middle one in the photo is 6 small rolls baked together.

K Atie the sausage rolls won’t last long as GS has some mates coming  around,  they are building a bike track.  I have 2 SD loaves on the go.
